The use of data enables a multitude of use cases in the context of Industry 4.0. However, in

order to obtain and use the necessary data, additional expenses are necessary that can

outweigh the benefits of the data usage. In the context of the thesis, a development and

evaluation of use cases in production processes is to be carried out in order to subsequently

conduct an effort-benefit analysis to quantify the added value of a cross-company data

exchange within a supply chain.

Therefore, we now offer the possibility of writing a
