Chemical Engineer Hytrel® (M/W/D)

The Hytrel® Manufacturing Technology Chemical Engineer will take ownership of process and
quality problems, investigating, identifying and implementing process improvements, and leading
teams and/or projects for longer-term improvements.

Detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing technical expertise for the processes at the plant and giving assistance to the
operations teams

• Providing technical support to the lab team as required

• Leading or participating on teams to upgrade processes and products ranging from
incremental improvements to major technology changes

• Executing the change management processes to achieve improvements (Process change
requests, Change of design, New Product development requests, Raw material & supplier
qualifications)

• Leading or serving on Six Sigma project teams to drive continuous improvement working on
areas such as quality, yield, uptime, fixed and variable cost reductions and working capital
reductions

Requirements:

• Technical degree (BS, MS or PhD) in Chemical Engineering or equivalent

• Fluent written and oral communication in English and German

• Good interpersonal skills to allow productive collaborative relationships with inside
customers, vendors, operations, mechanical and technical personnel

• Must be self-motivated and have great attention to detail but also an overall conceptual
thinking

• Strong trouble shooting skills (especially in IT systems)

• Ability to learn in a dynamic environment and to take initiatives

• Six Sigma certification is considered as a plus
