We have an opening for a software developer at site our in Gilching. Join our local developers and work in close collaboration with our ABB R&D team in China. You will be developing functional and safety-related software modules for next-generation robotic systems. Your responsibilities
- Develop embedded software for distributed systems with real-time functionality
- Develop software with the help of ARM microprocessors
- Specification and documentation of concept and architecture at system, hardware and software level
- Work in close collaboration with related departments and international R&D teams
- Oversee quality assurance based on code reviews and software tests on unit and component level
- Willingness to contribute to functional safety development and bring new ideas to the team
Your background
- More than 3 years of experience working in robotics development
- Outstanding Master’s degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
- Demonstrable knowledge in embedded systems development with real-time operating systems
- Excellent Programming skills in C and especially in C++
- Knowledge of microcontrollers
- Python knowledge desirable
- FPGA and EtherCAT bus systems knowledge desirable
- Knowledge of flowcharts/state charts (UML knowledge would be a plus)
- Knowledge of agile software development
- Fluent command of English preferably complemented by German language skills
